We have talked a lot of cinema in the last few weeks. First, our episode on young producers, then an interview on cinema cuts and on how young film makers are dealing with the crisis, and recently we talked about an Italian movie, Maledimiele.
Now, before moving on to other topics, we wish to close this series by inviting young cinema fans and professionals to a major event in Portugal, FEST, an International Film Festival specifically designed for young people.
FEST takes place in Espinho, on the Portuguese coast, from the 1st to the 8th of July this year. It includes a competition for young film makers and a an educational event called FEST Training Ground, where participants can attend workshops and classes in all the disciplines related to film making.
For more detailed information, you may visit the Facebook page of the event.
And, to get an idea, and “feel”, somehow, what happens at FEST, have a look at the following videos.
The first one is a promotional video in English with Spanish subtitles.
The next one is our favourite. It’s a documentary about FEST and the team of volunteers made last year by Lucille Caballero. It shows the festival backstage and will be screened at this year’s editon for the first time.
Finally, if you can understand Portuguese, here you will find some of the staff members introducing the festival. Enjoy!
